A research group led by Prof. Misako Yoneda and Prof. Chieko Kai and colleagues at Teikyo University has initiated a Phase 1 clinical trial in Belgium to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of a measles virus-vectored Nipah virus vaccine (MV-NiV). At the International Oncolytic Virus Conference (IOVC 2026), held April 26–29, 2026 in Reykjavik, Iceland, Panectin® inventor Prof. Chieko Kai and Assoc. Prof. Tomoko Fujiyuki participated and delivered an oral presentation. Results from the investigator-initiated Phase 1 trial were also presented as a poster.
